The US Boeing Group, specialized in the aerospace and defense sectors, has confirmed in recent hours that it will withdraw the application submitted in 2022 to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to request an exemption on some safety checks for the new B-737 MAX 7 aircraft. The company's goal was to speed up the certification procedure of the plane, which is waiting to be placed on the market.

The exemption concerns "an anti-icing system that can overheat and cause the engine nacelle to crack and fall. This could generate debris that enters the fuselage, endangering passengers seated near the window near the wing", explained Senator Tammy Duckworth, president of the Aviation Subcommittee, saying she was against the American manufacturer's request. 

This is the company's response: "We are confident that the proposed exemption for that system follows the procedures established by the FAA to ensure safe operation. For our part, we will instead incorporate an engineering solution that will be completed during the certification process" of the 737 Max 7.
