The US carrier American Airlines has recently communicated its financial and operational data for 2023. The airline had a record turnover of 53 billion dollars, recording an increase in annual net profit of 822 million dollars (they were 127 million the previous year). 

"Year 2023 was exceptional for us. Another year of recovery from the pandemic. We restored the company's profitability, generating record free cash-flow. In 2024 we must ensure we make progress" thanks to strong travel demand" and "with Spring and Summer" that are exceptional for us in terms of demand and product", commented Robert Isom, the company's CEO. 

In 2023, the company operated almost two million flights during the year with a load factor (seat occupancy rate) of 83.5%. Meanwhile, in the first quarter of 2024, American Airlines estimates an increase in operational capacity of between +6.5 and +8.5%, to end the year with an average performance of +5%.
