Red Sea: air strikes against Houthi bases
London is participating with four Royal Air Force Typhoon aircraft
Joint airstrikes carried out by the UK and US militaries in Middle Eastern waters continued tonight. As always, military positions and missile launch systems used by the Houthi rebels in Yemen to hit commercial ships transiting the Red Sea are under attack. The British Ministry of Defense announced this in a statement.
"Multiple targets at two military sites in the vicinity of Sanaa airport were hit." The intervention was aimed at reducing the Houthis' "limited supplies and ability to threaten global trade", explained the British Defense Minister, Grant Shapps. For London, four Royal Air Force (RAF) Typhoon aircraft took off from Cyprus.
