An A-320/214 aircraft (registration TS-INH) of the Tunisian company Nouvelair, which took off from Tunis and headed for London, made an emergency landing at the Italian airport of Olbia-Costa Smeralda, to provide assistance to a passenger who had a double heart attack on the flight. A doctor on board, together with the crew, provided the first emergency assistance. Saved the woman of Libyan origins.

According to an initial reconstruction of the incident, the aircraft (flight BJ844) took off at 8:40 am on Tuesday 9 January from runway 29 of Tunis-Carthage airport headed to the British airport of London-Gatwick, where it was expected to arrive around 10:40 am. Half an hour after departure the captain was informed by the cabin crew that a woman on board had suffered a sudden heart attack, followed by a second heart attack.

At that moment the aircraft was flying over Sardinia. At that point the pilot asked the air traffic controller to be make an emergency landing at Olbia airport, where the aircraft touched the ground at 09:54 am, after a sudden descent from 36,000 feet in about 10 minutes. It was reported by the Facebook page "Tunisian Aircraft Spotters".

Resuscitated by a doctor on board who gave her a cardiac massage, the woman was then transported to a Sardinian hospital together with her son, who was travelling with her. The plane then took off from Olbia at 11:50 am to reach London airport, where it landed at 12:44 pm.
