B-737 Max 9 plane crash (2): how many companies involved
Over 170 aircraft grounded in the USA, but just as many are flying in the rest of the world
Over 170 Boeing B-737 Max 9 aircraft have been grounded in the United States after the recent news event involving an airplane of this model present in the fleet of the US company Alaska Airlines, which suffered an emergency door detachment (plug door) while flying at 16,000 feet altitude, immediately after takeoff. A precautionary measure involving dozens of airlines.
According to data provided by the specialized platform "Ch.aviation", the airlines in the world that use 737 Max aircraft are based in particular in America: the US United Airlines (75) and Alaska Airlines (65), the Panamanian Copa Airlines (29), Aeroméxico (18). Broadening the focus to the rest of the world, there are the Kazakh Scat Airlines and Turkish Airlines (both 5), the Icelandic Icelandair (4), the Emirates Flydubai (3), the Dutch Corendon (2), the Indonesian Lion Air (2) and the African Air Tanzania (1).
At the moment the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has ordered the grounding of these aircraft. The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) could make the same decision. Now American inspectors will have to examine everything: the design of the aircraft, how it was assembled, what the maintenance and inspection records indicate, who sealed the door and how.
