The Norwegian government has announced that it will soon make available two F-16 "Fighting Falcon" military aircraft, produced by the US company Lockheed Martin, which will be used in Denmark for the training of Ukrainian pilots. Oslo's objective is to contribute to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) plan for training Ukrainian pilots to use the aircraft, after the approval given by the Biden administration.

"The F-16s have been on Kiev's request list and Norway last year said it would join Denmark, the Netherlands and others in supplying the planes. Norway has already sent 10 instructors to Denmark to help educate Ukrainian pilots", said Norwegian Defense Minister Bjoern Arild Gram in a statement. 

Oslo's move was made possible by the fact that the Norwegian Air Force fleet was recently modernized with the purchase of American F-35 warplanes from Lockheed Martin, which took the place of the F-16s. Part of the latter will be sent to Denmark.
