The direct flight was presented today, restored after five years
The direct flight between the "Giovanni Falcone e Paolo Borsellino" airport of Palermo-Punta Raisi and the US airport of New York has been restored after five years. The air connection will be operated by the Italian airline Neos, which will use Boeing 787/900 Dreamliner aircraft. The presentation of the new transatlantic route took place this morning at the airport of the Sicilian capital.
"It's good news for all of Sicily. A more functional connection between the island and the United States will certainly have positive repercussions for our economy", was the comment of the Sicilian region president, Renato Schifani.
"The operation of the flight in the four summer months can -added the politician-, in fact, represent an element of great tourist attraction. I express my applause to the top management of Gesap, the management company of the Falcone-Borsellino airport, for the initiative implemented with the collaboration of the Neos airline also for the promotion plan which will start shortly".
