Italy: the air mobility market is growing

Performance fueled by greater use of drones and electric air taxis

The Italian advanced air mobility market will reach a turnover of 1.85 billion euros in 2030. Growth fueled by the growing sale and purchase of drones and by investments in electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVtol). It emerges from the 2023 "Advanced Air Mobility Italian Market Study & Recommendations for the National Ecosystem" study carried out by the consultancy firm PwCStrategy Italy.

According to the study, the air mobility market in Italy is today worth 490 million euros. A value that will quadruple in the next seven years, a period in which a clear growth is expected in various innovative activities: acquisition of images and data from above (from the current 264 million Euros to 720 million in 2030), passenger transport (from 13 to 590 million), defense (from 139 to 330 million), cargo (from 68 to 195 million), aerial work (from 6 to 15 million).

The analysis also provides a series of recommendations on how to accelerate the growth of the air mobility market in Italy: develop regulations; facilitate the growth of national Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs); that service operators and technology developers support regulatory bodies in defining the integration of unmanned systems.

The research was carried out by the request of "Roma Drone Conference" and will be previewed on Tuesday 5th at the organized event.
