Over 100 flights have been cancelled in the UK today due to Cyclone 'Ciaran'. There is severe disruption throughout the transport sector, from trains to ships, due to fallen trees and floods. Due to strong winds, cancellations and delays could last until Saturday. The chaos is spreading to neighboring countries in Central Europe and should also reach Italy over the week-end.

The national carrier British Airways and the Dutch airline KLM have cancelled a total of around 100 flights to and from the United Kingdom due to bad weather conditions. The short-haul routes scheduled at London-Heathrow airport are especially affected. Some smaller airports such as Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney are closed.
