Agreed to supply humanitarian aid on the Egypt-Gaza crossing; Tel Aviv prepares incursion
The escalation of violence between Israelis and Palestinians has reached its twelfth day. The toll is 3,400 victims and 199 Jews kidnapped. Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden met yesterday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi, agreeing on the opening of the Rafah crossing this week, to provide humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, where over 513,000 people they are welcomed into the UN structures.
"UNRWA shelters are overcrowded and have very limited supplies of food, hygiene and cleaning products and drinking water. The terrible conditions, exacerbated by war-related trauma, have begun to fuel tensions among internally displaced people in shelters", says the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the UN agency dedicated to Palestinian refugees.
The President of Iraq, Abdul Latif Rashid, interviewed today by the Italian newspaper "Il Messaggero", reiterated that "terrorism must always be condemned in all its forms, especially when it targets civilians. I will never tire of the conflict to repeat it, is resolved by returning to the UN resolutions and to the negotiations and application of two peoples and two States".
