France: bomb alerts at eight airports
The alarm has been lifted at the Nice-Côte d'Azur airport
Bomb scares multiply throughout France. Today the airports of Lille-Lesquin, the "Saint-Exupéry" of Lyon, that of Toulouse-Blagnac, Biarritz--Basque Country, Pau-Pyrenees, the "Saint-Jacques" of Rennes-Bretagne, and Nantes-Atlantique were evacuated. Flights are suspended. The bomb squad and special teams intervened on site. While the alarm has just switched off at the Nice-Côte d'Azur airport.
The French Directorate General de l'Aviation Civile (DGAC) has announced that at the moment no plane has taken off at the airports involved by the alarm, while travelers are forced to remain on board the landed aircraft. As regards the alarm at the Nice airport, the threat referred to a piece of luggage abandoned at the airport which, once analyzed by the bomb squad and identified as harmless, was promptly removed.
