Israel: repatriation to Oslo failed
Norwegian Air's insurance does not cover flights to and from Tel Aviv
The low-cost carrier Norwegian Air today cancelled a flight organized specifically for the planned evacuation of Norwegian citizens. The reason? The airline's insurance company no longer covers routes to the country in conflict. This is the connection departing this morning from the "David Ben Gurion" international airport in Tel Aviv and headed to Oslo-Gardermoen. The Norwegian government is looking for other solutions.
"The insurance used by Norwegian and a number of other airlines no longer covers flights to Tel Aviv", Norwegian reiterated in a statement. In collaboration with the Foreign Ministry, the airline was supposed to take citizens of Norway and other Nordic countries stranded in the Middle East out of Israel. The flight had already been postponed yesterday, but in the last 24 hours a solution could not be found and so the connection was cancelled.
