Virgin Australia Airlines sees again profit

For the first time in 11 years the carrier reports a profitable balance sheet

Virgin Australia Airlines today communicated the official economic data recorded by the company for the fiscal year 2023 (from 30 June 2022 to 30 June this year): revenues amounted to 3.21 billion dollars, while the profit after taxes amounted to 82.93 million (it was -362.64 million in 2022). This is the first time in 11 years that the company has returned to record a profit. 

"Our balance sheet is now significantly stronger and the company's operating cost base has improved significantly compared to recent years. Future transformation plans put us in a good position to manage adverse costs and to continue to improve our activities", explained Race Strauss, the airline's Chief Financial Officer.
