Greece purchases 4 firefighting helicopters
Green light from the Ministry of Finance to spend 100 million euros
Greece invests resources to strengthen the national public firefighting service fleet. The Hellenic Ministry of Finance, led by Kostis Hatzidakis, yesterday approved the purchase of four heavy transport helicopters which will be destined to enter service in the Hellenic Fire Service.
This is a green light with which the Greek executive follows up on the national plan for the supply of heavy helicopters, for a total public expenditure of approximately 100 million euros. The aircraft will have a dual use: they can be used in firefighting missions, but also to support transport operations (equipment, vehicles, containers).
