The management of the US low-cost Spirit Airlines has announced that it will expand its route network in the Winter 2023 season. Five new routes will be added in November, focusing in particular on the "Fiorello LaGuardia" airports in New York and Hartsfield-Jackson in Atlanta. Furthermore, after a year, it will restore flights to and from the Chicago-O'Hare airport and the Palm Beach stopover in Florida.
It emerges from the latest weekly report from the analysis company Cirium, specialized in data monitoring in the commercial air transport sector. Starting from November 5th the A-319 and A-321 aircraft will operate the first three new routes departing from "LaGuardia" towards Atlanta, Chicago, Palm Beach. It's a decision that aims to acquire new market shares from competitors JetBlue, Delta, Frontier and Southwest.
Spirit Airlines will further strengthen its Winter route network in the coming months. Flights to the important international airport of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood will also resume from November 15th. Then, between November and March 2024 the routes to the domestic airports of Detroit-Wayne and Hollywood will increase from three to four daily flights. The expected approval of the merger between Spirit and JetBlue carriers will bring further news.
