Indonesia-Australia air exercise
"Elang Ausindo" starts with 300 soldiers and dozens of F-35 and F-16 military aircraft
The "Elang Ausindo" joint air military exercise between the Australian and Indonesian air forces begins. The aim is to build cooperation, mutual trust and greater harmony between the armed forces of the two countries. 150 Australian soldiers with six Lockheed Martin F-35 fighters and 160 Indonesians with Lockheed Martin F-16 aircraft are participating in the training, which takes place in the Indonesian province of North Sulawesi.
"Through these maneuvers we can build cooperation, trust and mutual understanding both at the Air Force level and more broadly between the defense forces of our countries", said Glen Braz, Air Commander of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), interviewed by the "Mirage" website.
