Helsinki Airport bets on electric cars

Several recharging points for battery-powered vehicles have been inaugurated in the stopover car parks

New charging stations for electric cars inaugurated at Helsinki airport, bringing the number of refuelling stations for battery-powered cars to almost 350. These infrastructures are present in each parking lot of the airport, where passengers have the possibility of leaving their vehicle in custody for the entire duration of the air journey. 

"The largest number of charging stations are located in the P2 car park, where the entire third floor is reserved for charging electric cars. The other columns are located in the parking area closest to the departure gate, some right next to the terminal the parking service is cheaper if you book in advance", said Jukka Isomäki, Finavia parking manager for Helsinki Airport.

In detail, the airport operator Finavia has opened the new P1 Premium and P2 car parks next to the Helsinki airport terminal, making around 250 charging stations available. Additional columns for electric cars are also available in stalls P3 (30 infrastructures) and P5 (another 70 refuelling points).
