To hire them are Andrea Benassi and Francesco Presicce; their biographies
The Italian national air carrier ITA Airways, 100% controlled by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) has a new board of directors made up of three members. The board of statutory auditors, however, was confirmed. The shareholders' meeting also entrusted all the operational powers of Fabio Lazzerini (former CEO and general manager) to Andrea Benassi and Francesco Presicce. Let's see who they are.
Benassi was entrusted with the general management of the airline. Until yesterday he held the role of Chief Network, Fleet and Alliances Officer also in ITA Airways (from 2020 to 2023). Previously he worked in Alitalia taking on various roles and making a career up to management roles (from 2003 to 2016). After a brief spell in the telecommunications multinational Veon (from 2016 to 2017), he returned to Alitalia assuming the position of Pricing & Revenue Management Vice President (from 2017 to 2021).
Presicce assumed the role of Accountable Manager (a position previously held by Lazzerini). Until a few hours earlier he held the role of Chief Technology Officer for ITA Airways (from 2021 to 2023). The manager is a former general of the Italian Air Force (AMI). Born in 1966 in Taranto, he was a former pilot. He attended the course of the "Drago IV" aeronautical academy. He has a degree in political science, a degree in aeronautical science and a master's degree in National Security and Defense Resource Management from the National Defense University in Washington. The general was the right-hand man of the former Chief of Defense Staff Enzo Vecciarelli.
