The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has announced the launch of a research project to improve the supply and distribution infrastructure of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The studies and tests will be conducted at the Danish international airport of Copenhagen. 

"Maintaining our position as an important hub in northern Europe requires reasonable key conditions and the means to invest, so that the airport remains attractive for airlines and passengers. Otherwise, Denmark will lose ground to its neighbours", explained Thomas Woldbye, managing director of the company Københavns Lufthavne, which manages the Danish airport. 

The research project has four objectives: the creation of optimal conditions for the supply of Saf; the evaluation of new propellants for new generation aircraft; cost-benefit analysis to make supply more efficient; monitoring harmful emissions to optimize greenhouse gas reduction measures, ensuring that best sustainability practices are used.
