Aircraft and strike in France
Hardships will continue today and until dawn tomorrow
The French Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile (Dgac) has asked air carriers today to cancel all flights departing from or arriving at the airports of Paris-Beauvais, Brest (in the extreme west of the country) and Carcassonne (in the south). The decision was made due to a strike by air traffic controllers which involved the three transalpine airports. Hardships will continue today and until dawn tomorrow.
All air connections at the three airports are expected to be completely shut down for the day on Thursday, with the disruptions continuing until Friday morning at 6:00am. This highly restrictive measure is a rarity, since in previous cases the DGAC had always asked for the cancellation of half of the flights.
