Western Sydney International Airport (Nancy-Bird Walton), due to open in 2026, has made public the new flight paths for incoming and outgoing aircraft. The various residents' committees in the capital's suburbs (Greendale, Luddenham, Twin Creeks) are already up in arms as they will see their previous calm shattered by noise pollution.

According to various reports on the noise impact, this will occur along the new flight paths, in an area within 20 km of the airport, where the noise could often exceed the threshold of 70 decibels per day. Meanwhile, air carrier Qantas has said it will establish a base at Western Sydney Airport in 2026, using the airport to connect the capital with States across Australia.
