Italy predicts a boom in air passengers in "Summer 2023". In fact, with the end of the toughest restrictions on international air travel, it has spread as a sort of "tourism revenge", that is the uncontrollable desire of travelers at all costs after years of closures and lockdowns. And the beautiful country, one of the most sought-after destinations in the world, is expecting a record number of passengers in the summer. 

It emerges from recent data from the Italian Ministry of Tourism, which estimates that at least 1,844,000 air passengers will pass through Italian airports in June, of which 84% from abroad. This is a monthly performance that marks +8.6% compared to the previous year. Focusing on the whole year, however, the department estimates an increase in tourism of +86% between 2022 and 2023.

In particular, around 30% of European travelers, looking for recreation and relaxation, will come to Italy, thus confirming its appeal as a prime tourist destination. Travel for work reasons will instead represent 21.4%, while 14.6% will do it to reunite with family and relatives, finally 11.8% will also choose Italy for shopping in the boutiques.
