ATR announces 22 aircraft orders
The announcement at the "Paris Air Show"
The turboprop aircraft manufacturer Avions de Transport Régional (ATR), a joint-venture between Airbus and Leonardo specializing in the construction of turboprop aircraft for regional flight, announced the acquisition of 22 orders (plus two optioned), in the first days of the "Paris Air Show", which began on the 19th and will be held until the 25th of June.
"These new orders testify to the clear signs of recovery coming from the market and in particular from East South Asia, traditionally one of the most important markets for ATR", commented Nathalie Tarnaud Laude, CEO of the aircraft manufacturer today.
The detailed list of orders received: six ATR-72/600 aircraft commissioned by Taiwanese airline Mandarin Airlines; two -72/600s with premium ''All-Business Class'' configuration for Malaysian Berjaya Air; three -72/600 aircraft purchased from the Brazilian company Azul (two more optioned); finally eight -72/600 fixed-wing aircraft for undeclared customers, and a further three -42/600 from unmentioned buyers.
