Today is the day of a 24-hour national strike in the Italian air transport sector. Down tools due to pay dispute by the employees of the airport handling services companies, the personnel of the air carriers, the workers of the aviation sector and related industries. According to the consumer protection association "ItaliaRimborso" over 210,000 Italian travelers will suffer inconvenience.

In detail, the strikes by individual sector: 24-hour absence from work for workers of companies operating airport handling services from 00:01am to 11:59pm; same timetable for employees in the aviation, airport and related airport sectors; the protest time slot is the same as that of the personnel of the air transport companies and associated companies; finally, the staff of the Vueling airline went on strike all day on 20 June.

The Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) recalled as always that the air connections will be made in the guaranteed hourly slots (from 7:00 to 10:00am and from 6:00pm to 9:00pm). The flights of essential public services will also be insured: in addition to those of the State, military, emergency, health, humanitarian and rescue services.
