The American company CHC Helicopter, a global provider of helicopter services (medical transport, off-shore, firefighting) has launched a court case against the Irish government due to the loss of the contract for search and rescue services (SAR, Search and Rescue) Maritime for the Irish Coast Guard, which operated out of Shannon, Waterford, Sligo and Dublin airports.

On 30 May, in fact, the national transport department announced that it had selected the company Bristow Ireland as the new service provider, winning the tender with an offer that provides for a ten-year agreement worth 670 million Euros.

The CHC Helicopter company, which lost the tender, appealed to the Irish high court, requesting the annulment of this decision, arguing that the Dublin government conducted a selection procedure containing procedural defects. "We strongly believe that the offer we presented was the best", explained Rob Tatten, operations director at CHC Ireland.
