India looks to US armed drones

Theme at the center of the Biden-Modi meeting which will take place in the USA

The New Delhi government is apparently considering the purchase of dozens of US-made armed drones. These are probably MQ-9B "SeaGuardian" made by the General Atomics company. For now, these are rumors, which are filtering not by chance in view of the State visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Washington, scheduled for June 22, during which he will meet his American counterpart Joe Biden

This is what the British news agency "Reuters" reports it, citing sources close to the sale. According to the latter, Washington is pushing New Delhi to simplify the bureaucratic procedures to put on paper an order for the purchase of dozens of armed drones. The estimated value is between 2 and 3 billion dollars.

Again according to media reports: the US State Department, the Pentagon and the White House have asked India to document the progress made on the purchase of 24-30 MQ-9B SeaGuardian armable drones made by General Atomics. In any case, it seems that India is really interested and would also seek to acquire other US-made military components.
