"Madex 2023" defense exhibition kicks off today (June 7-9)
International event on marine and aviation technologies in South Korea
The international Maritime Defense Industry Exhibition ("Madex") kicks off today, held from 7 to 9 June 2023 in the city of Busan, South Korea. It is a three-day event dedicated to the maritime defense sector organized to promote advanced weapon systems, warships and marine equipment. Approximately 140 companies from 12 countries attended the event, with the participation of over 100 official delegations from 26 countries.
"This event will be an invaluable opportunity to observe the present and future status of the global maritime weapons system technology and maritime defense industry, and further strengthen the arms industry and maritime security cooperation between countries", said South Korean Navy Naval Operations Manager Admiral Lee Jong-ho.
On display at the "Madex" a wide range of maritime defense systems: prototypes of warships (such as the destroyer "Kddx"), electronic warfare technologies, attack helicopters, maritime drones and submarines. The international exhibition is also an occasion for state bilateral meetings, talks between officials and managers of industries in the defense sector.
