The Singapore Airlines aviation group announced that it has cancelled an order for the purchase and sale of eight B-737 MAX 8 aircraft in the past few hours. The announcement came after a positive confrontation between the Asian carrier and the US aircraft manufacturer Boeing, who accepted the modification of the order. The carrier is still waiting to receive 100 fixed-wing aircraft, including 13 B-737 MAXs. 

The management of the Asian airline made this agreement official during the presentation of the economic results for the 2022-2023 financial year. A golden period for the company, which in the previous 12 months recorded the highest net profit in its 76-year history: 2.15 billion dollars with a turnover of 17.77 billion (+133.4% on 2021 -2022). On this occasion, the company informed the market about the latest developments in the fleet.

In 2023 Singapore Airlines took delivery of an A-350/900 in March, a B-787/1000 and a B-737 MAX 8 in April. At the end of the first quarter, the company's fleet consisted of 195 aircraft (188 passenger airplanes and 7 cargo). The order book is about 100 aircraft: 3 A-350, 15 B-787/10 Dreamliner, 31 B-777/900 aircraft, 13 MAX 8 and 7 A-350F; for the low-cost subsidiary Scoot there are instead three B-787/800 airplanes, B-787/9 Dreamliner, 12 A-320neo, 6 A-321neo and 9 E-190E2.
