USA: conference on flight safety

In 2023 six near collisions due to aircraft incursions on runways

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the United States has scheduled a conference dedicated to the risk of aviation accidents deriving from unforeseen incursions of aircraft on the runways for 23 May. This is a decision that comes after a record number of near collisions was recorded at American airports in the first few months of the year.

These are situations that have prompted the regulators of the skies to confront each other to seek synergistic solutions on the subject of aviation safety in the United States. "We have made this issue one of our top priorities to move from zero fatalities to zero serious accidents", said Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) ad interim Administrator, Billy Nolen last month.

Currently, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating six serious near collisions between aircraft caused by runway incursions during the year 2023. The scheduled roundtable will bring together experts from the aviation industry, labor, safety aviation and government technicians, who will discuss the problem to identify possible solutions.
