Lufthansa sells catering company
All Lsg Group assets sold after three years
German airline Lufthansa announced yesterday evening that it will sell airline catering business LSG Group. It is bought by the private equity company Aurelius, based in Germany and other European countries. The sale comes three years after the company was put up for sale. To be divested is the remaining equity stake in the food and beverage company, the last one that was still in the airline's portfolio. A move that will allow the Group to focus more on its core airline business.
The two companies of the transaction have announced that the transaction should be completed in the third quarter of 2023. No further details on the transaction (sale price) have been provided. The Lufthansa airline had decided to divest LSG Sky Chefs in 2019. Part of those activities in Europe had been sold at the end of that year to the Swiss company Gategroup for 1.1 billion euros. However, the pandemic has delayed the divestment of the remaining parts of the business.
