The government of Great Britain officially announced today that it has signed an agreement with the Japanese executive to facilitate cooperation between the two countries in the aerospace and defense sectors. The agreement provides for the sharing of information, collaborative training and the exchange of personnel. 

"Space dominance is central to our shared security and prosperity, an area vital for cooperation, supported by Britain's UK Space Command and Japan's Koku-Jietai", said the UK Air Force Chief of Staff, Sir Mike Wigston.

Today's announcement refers to the entry into force of an agreement signed in January, which follows a document signed by the British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, and his Japanese counterpart, Fumio Kishida, which provides for collaboration in the Global Combat Air Program (Gcap), which involves the joint development of a sixth generation combat aircraft with Italy.
