West Bank tensions: six Palestinian victims
Budget anti-terrorist operation conducted by Tel Aviv
A counter-terrorism operation conducted by the Israeli armed forces in Jenin, in the West Bank, led to the killing of six men according to Palestinian sources. An Israeli Army spokesman specified that among the victims was Abdel Fattah Gharusha, "the Hamas terrorist suspected of killing the brothers Hillel and Yagel Yaniv on February 26 in Huwara", while two of the man's sons were arrested.
"Our brave fighters acted surgically in the killers' den. I congratulate them and wish a speedy recovery to our soldiers wounded in combat", commented Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"The daily killings against our people are total war and the destruction of everything". The "responsibility for this dangerous escalation lies with the Israeli government" which risks "exploding the situation and nullifying all efforts aimed at restoring stability". The United States is intervening to "put pressure on the Israeli government" to end the attacks, said Nabil Abu Rudeinah, spokesman for the Palestinian President.
