Robinson helicopters: orders on the rise
American aircraft manufacturer increases production
On the 50th anniversary of its foundation, the US helicopter manufacturer Robinson Helicopter announced that it will increase aircraft production capacity in 2023. This is a decisive move to respond to the constant increase in the company's order book: 258 deliveries in 2022 and 244 in 2021; during this year they will be even greater.
"We currently have over 350 helicopters on a backlog, so you can understand that we have a lot of work to do to ramp up our production". These numbers give the industry security "but we want to get the helicopters out of the factory as fast as possible". The slowdown in component deliveries "is mostly resolved" and "over time this allows us to accelerate the line much more" of production, Robinson reports it.
Today the production rate is three R-66 helicopters per week, 3.5 R-44 model aircraft, and one R-22 rotorcraft every two weeks. In 2022, 101 R-66 helicopters were delivered, while there were 86 R-44 Raven IIs and 51 R-44 Raven ISs and 5 R-44 Cadets, finally 15 R22s were given to customers. To reach its goals the company increased the workforce to 1020 employees this year.
