ITA Airways: A-320neo airplane with blue livery enters operations

Today on Rome-Palermo route

The A-320neo airplane with ITA Airways' new blue livery performed its first commercial flight today. Flight AZ 1781 departed from Rome-Fiumicino Airport at 1:20pm local time, to reach Palermo's Punta Raisi Airport.

The Airbus is dedicated to Francesco Moser, the extraordinary Italian cyclist of the 1970s and 1980s, and features unique design details such as the Zorro mask and sharklets.

Bringing together technology and efficiency, the A-320neo delivers 20% less fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per seat compared to previous generation aircraft. With the new A-320neo, ITA Airways will further enrich its modern and environment-friendly fleet, which will feature 80% new generation aircraft by 2026, with the consequent downscaling of 1.3 million tons of CO2 emissions.

Furthermore, the airplane features an innovative cabin design, granting passengers a unique travel experience courtesy of more modern and comfortable seats.

The new aircraft will be serving the Company's domestic and international network from Rome-Fiumicino to the airports of Brindisi, Bari, Bologna, Catania, Genoa, Milan-Linate, Naples, Palermo, Lamezia Terme, Turin and Venice in Italy, and those of Paris-"Charles de Gaulle", Madrid and Brussels in Europe, to cover all ITA Airways' short- and medium haul destinations in the 2023 Summer season.
