Unveiled a study for the construction of a new Longjia airport terminal in the city of Changchun, located in the province of Jilin, in the northeastern part of China. The new facility is expected to accommodate 22 million passengers annually when completed, though the opening date has yet to be announced. 

The project was created by the Mad Architects studio, led by one of the best-known Chinese architects, Ma Yansong. The study involves the construction of a fan-shaped structure with an area of almost 270,000 square meters, which will connect the two existing terminals of Changchun airport to the center of the urban core by road and subway. 

The Changchun airport project is one of many studies that aim to expand various airports throughout China. Other recently completed projects include Beijing's Daxing International Airport and Chengdu's "New Tianfu" International Airport. According to China's Transportation Network Planning Outline 2021, the country aims to have 400 airports in use by 2035, up from 241 in 2020.
