ITA Airways in the Tourism Trade Fair in Zurich (February 2-5)

The airline participates for the first time at "Fespo" event

ITA Airways participates as exhibitor at "Fespo 2023" (from the 2nd to the 5th of February), Switzerland's leading Travel and Tourism trade fair. In its 31st edition, the event is hosted in the Zurich Exhibition Centre where 600 exhibiting companies and more than 60,000 visitors are expected to participate.

During the show, the Italian airline is present in Hall 4 with a branded area (stand 4.030): here the local team welcomes guests, tour operators, travel agencies and companies to showcase the brand, its network and product to the key players of the Swiss and international tourism industry.

At local level, the carrier currently operates 28 weekly frequencies between Switzerland and Italy thanks to connections from Geneva and Zurich airports to its Rome-Fiumicino hub.

A growing offer, which from April will increase to 38 frequencies, to reach 50 weekly frequencies between the two countries from June. To these are added connections with the entire network of destinations in Italy and the rest of the world, including South America with Brazil and Argentina. In the Summer season, the company will also offer seasonal connections to numerous Mediterranean destinations.

At the core is the expansion of ITA Airways' intercontinental network, which operates 9 long-haul routes out of the 51 destinations in the current Winter season. Among the long-haul flights, there are the new connections from Rome-Fiumicino to San Francisco and Washington, which will be operational from the Summer, and the flight to Rio de Janeiro launching in November. These new destinations join the connections to Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Tokyo-Haneda, New Delhi and Malé (Maldives) and the network of destinations in the United States, including New York, Boston, Miami and Los Angeles. In addition, with the entry of the new A-321Neo in the fleet, the Company plans to open new destinations to the Middle East: Riyadh, Jeddah and Kuwait City.

One of the pillars of its strategy is its commitment to sustainability: the Company aims to become the greenest air carrier in Europe by 2026, courtesy of a modern fleet with state-of-the-art technology. ITA Airways is committed to a CO2 emissions reduction plan, including the progressive renewal of its fleet, which will feature 80% new generation aircraft by 2026, with the consequent downscaling of 1.3 million tons of CO2 emissions. The recent introduction of the A-220/300, which is operational on routes to Geneva and Zurich, and the A-350/900 operating on intercontinental destinations, represent a further step towards this goal.
