Spain introduces restrictions on flights from China

Negative passenger diagnostic tests or full vaccination program required

Mandatory tests have been instituted at all Spanish airports for travellers from China. It was decided by the Spanish Government today, with the aim of preventing an increase in Covid-19 infections. Starting from 8 January, in fact, the Asian country will put an end to the restrictions (quarantine) on international flights, maintaining the obligation on masks and tampons.

Travellers will be asked for "proof that they are negative or a complete vaccination course" since the health situation in Spain is "stable" thanks to the high vaccination rate. "We have solid surveillance and a very powerful vaccination strategy", Spanish Health Minister, Carolina Darias, said at a press conference.

There is fear of the "lack of information" on the wave of infections in China. "The main concern lies in the possibility -he added- that new uncontrolled variants may appear" in the Asian country". At European level" the need to request a negative covid certificate for travelers from the Dragon country will be promoted.
