Ukrainian war: European aid plan

World Bank estimates around 350 billion euros in damages in eight months of war

The World Bank has released an estimate of the damage caused by the Russian armed forces in Ukraine, which amounts to about 350 billion euros in eight months of war against Moscow. For this reason, yesterday in Berlin the European Union illustrated the salient points of a possible reconstruction plan for the country, which will involve an entire generation.

"Next year we will decrease our budget deficit to an amount between 3 and 4 billion euros per month, while this year it was more than 5 billion per month. We are reducing and cutting all possible expenses in our budget. but we still need 3 or 4 billion a month to finance this war budget", said Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, speaking in Berlin.

While German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier was visiting Kiev, Chancellor Olaf Scholz said: "As we speak the ferocious Russian aggression has further intensified. The latest indiscriminate attacks, including the use of kamikaze drones against civilians and civilian infrastructure. Ukrainians, mark a new deplorable effort by Russia to wipe Ukraine off the map. We need "a new Marshall plan for the 21st century".
