Queen Elizabeth II's funeral begins

One million people expected in London, police helicopters patrol the skies

The State funeral of Queen Elizabeth II is underway. One million people expected on the streets of London. Inside the Westminster Abbey where the funeral is celebrated there are currently about 2000 guests including ordinary people, volunteers, celebrities and politicians. There are about 500 of the most powerful people on Earth. Among them also the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella . The safety device put in place is impressive.

The British Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) has so far banned the use of airspace in central London to all aircraft, including drones, flying below 2,500 feet in height. All travellers arriving in the capital by plane went through strict security checks at the airport. The Metropolitan Police has made available three helicopters to monitor the most sensitive areas.

Meanwhile, the streets around central London are closed to unauthorized vehicles. Around Westminster Abbey, where most of Elizabeth II's funeral will take place, there are additional police patrols. British state broadcaster "BBC" reported that all nearby manholes had been raised and searched for explosives. Each street lamp was opened and checked. Snipers are stationed at the top of the buildings around the center of the capital.
