Ukrainian war: Italian weapons in Kiev

Soon second decree to authorize self-propelled, tracked and armored vehicles

Italy is ready to send a new tranche of armaments to support Kiev in the war against Russia. Rome aligns itself to the request of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and prepares a second decree with which the government will authorize the supply. This was stated in recent hours by the Italian Minister of Defense, Lorenzo Guerini, upon his return to Italy after attending the international summit in Ramstein, Germany.

Among Rome's supplies there will be Stinger and Milan anti-aircraft and anti-tank portable missile launchers, anti-armor mortars, heavy and light machine guns, bulletproof vests, elements and ammunition of various types. With respect to the previous decree, among the war material that will be sent in the near future there should also be heavy weapons such as M-109 howitzer artillery.

The Government's measure, as usual, will be subject to state secrecy. On the content of the next decree, the Minister of Defense will report this week to Copasir (Parliamentary Committee on Security Republic). However, some analysts predict that Rome is ready to send long-range howitzers, M-113 tracked vehicles used for military transport and light Lince vehicles of Italian production.
