USA: FBI bounty on laser attacks on planes

Federal police offer 10,000 dollars for info on Seattle airport incidents

The office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Seattle has announced that it will offer a reward of 10,000 dollars for information leading to the arrest of persons responsible for pointing portable laser systems at airplanes near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. This initiative runs parallel to the investigative collaborations initiated with several local and federal agencies believed to be responsible.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said numerous crews have reported "being illuminated" by a green laser in recent weeks. According to reports collected by the FBI, since March 9 there have been more than 100 cases involving Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and coming from different neighborhoods in the city. Faa recalled that in 2021 issued 120,000 dollars in fines for these types of crimes.
