Iceland: missing plane found
Cessna crashed in Thingvellir park: 4 occupants dead

Rescue teams in Iceland have recently located the lifeless bodies of the four occupants of the small Cessna C-172 tourist plane that disappeared while flying over Thingvellir National Park. The aircraft was spotted in Lake Thingvallavatn, about 50 kilometres east of the capital Reykjavik. The Cessna C-172 was carrying a local pilot and three tourists from the United States, the Netherlands and Belgium. The bodies were found near the wreckage.
The plane disappeared last Thursday 3rd February, shortly after taking off from Reykjavik airport. Hundreds of people were mobilised for rescue, along with boats, divers and two helicopters of the Icelandic Coast Guard. Once the wreckage was located, bad weather forced search teams to postpone operations to recover the bodies from the lake.
