Italian Hon. Delle Vedove asked Italian Minister of Interior for explaining if the statement released by CIA’s agent Robert Baer to the Italian daily paper "La Repubblica" were totally or partially truth. Italian Government is also expected to answer about which kind of role Italian Intelligence Services played in the kidnapping of Abu Omar.
