Alitalia: hypothesis on the general management
Will Ivan Bassato be nominated?
Alitalia's changes will also affect management: the hypotheses are being considered by the Minister of Economic Development, Stefano Patuanelli. Among the eligible candidates in the general management is Ivan Bassato, already from 2015 airport manager of Aeroporti di Roma (AdR) and previously DG Air Dolomiti, a carrier belonging to the Lufthansa Group.
AdR is controlled by Atlantia, a very proven joint-stock company for the problem of the phantom of the revocation of motorway concessions following the collapse of the Ponte Morandi. Should the appointment of Bassato take place, it could be appreciated either by Atlantia (now however withdrawn from the consortium - see AVIONEWS) or by Lufthansa. The latter interested in entering the "Alitalia deal" only in the event of a profound restructuring involving thousands of redundancies (see AVIONEWS) with 3000 fewer employees and another 3000 workers that could be transferred to Swissport International, a Chinese multinational company belonging to China HNA.
