Russia: training with Su-33 and Su-25UTG aircraft
It will take place by November based on simulation in Crimea - VIDEO
The pilots of the 279th separate shipborne fighter Air Regiment of the Northern Fleet’s naval aviation will start some training flights with Su-33 and Su-25UTG airplanes next week near Saky, a city of regional importance in Ukraine, located in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The exercises will take place at a base specifically designed for aircraft simulations called "Nitka".
An exact start date has not been communicated yet as this will depend on the weather conditions along the flight route. Previously, even the commanders of the 100th Air Regiment prepared themselves at the same base by piloting MiG-29K and MiG-29Kub fighters in the Crimea.
The "Nikta" simulator is designed for aerial take-off and landing exercises: it is an airfield equipped with a bridge and stopping devices similar in size to the flight deck of Russia's heavy aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov".
