USA and UK on the phone
Comparison before the summit NATO in December
US President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson about the upcoming NATO summit to be held on 3 and 4 December in London. Trump highlighted the importance for NATO allies of investing in defense armaments. During the conversation Johnson confronted Trump about the air raid and killing of the head of Isis Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and reiterated the crucial importance of continuing the fight against terrorism. Both leaders pointed out that NATO must not be caught unprepared before possible threats.
A White House statement reads: "The two leaders once again reiterated their commitment to strengthen their special relationship through a strong bilateral free trade agreement once the UK leaves the European Union" (see AVIONEWS).
