Turkish carriers will have plainclothes agents on board

The "air police" established: at least in two on each flight

This is announced today by the national official Gazette with number 30905: from October 1st 2019 in Turkey the "air police" is established. That is, according to government regulations, as reported by a spokesman for the Interior Ministry, each link will have at least two plainclothes agents on board. According to the rules of the new measure the police officers in charge will have at least 5 years of experience in law enforcement, and "will not report hierarchically to the commander of the aircraft", the document reports it. Their identities will not be disclosed to other passengers. A special directive will detail about weapons and ammunition they will be equipped with, and the ticket will be paid by the airlines.

Finally, "The air police will have to return control of the aircraft to the commander in order to ensure flight safety in cases where one or more people attempt to take control of an aircraft in flight with threat or violence. They will have to to take all appropriate measures to protect the safety of the crew and passengers and prevent illegal interference".
