The US will sell 66 F-16 fighter jets to Taiwan
"A lot of money" but possible tensions between the US and China
On August 15, US President Donald Trump confirmed the intention of the sale of sixty-six F-16 to Taiwan: an 8 billion euro deal that will allow employment support in America, which marks the largest and most significant arms sales to Taiwan, but which could increase the conflict between Washington and Beijing. However, the American president underlined the importance of the initiative, as his confirmation by the Congress would involve "a lot of money and a lot of jobs".
The Taiwei Ministry of Defense expressed satisfaction today with the agreement announced with the Americans, considering that it will expand its air defense and contribute to ensuring peace.
