NATO. Stoltenberg: Iran political concern on missiles and nuclear

Iran. Rouhani: "White House mentally retarded"

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg responding to journalists in the press conference before the defense ministerial scheduled for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow in Brussels, on the worrying escalation in the crisis between the US and Iran, especially after the demolition of the Navy's drone aircraft declared that "The situation in the Gulf and the destabilizing activities of Iran, but also its missile program and nuclear activities worries. All allies share this concern", the US official said in recent days in the Strait of Hormuz. The secretary hoped that the topic will be debated in the two-day period even if it is not on the ministerial agenda.

Meanwhile, the US-Iranian strike and response continues. On the one hand, President Trump, who after threatening military intervention, has rethought himself and has ordered a cyber attack on control systems according to a tweet on Iranian missiles. Iranian telecommunications minister Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi is ready to send the tweet, denying effectiveness said: "No attacks have been carried out successfully. We do not fear the American cyber-attacks" (see also AVIONEWS).

But in the meantime the head of the White House has issued an executive order that imposes new sanctions that aim to deny access to the international financial institutions to the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei, and to his close collaborators. The sanctions demonstrate the "desperation" of the US administration, said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, calling the White House "mentally retarded". The last joke was made by the spokesman of the foreign ministry, Abbas Mousavi: "Imposing unnecessary sanctions on Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei and the commander of Iranian diplomacy, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, means the definitive closure of the diplomatic channel".
