His Piper airplane falls: pop star Gabriel Diniz dies
He had left Salvador to go to his girlfriend's birthday. Three victims as a whole
The Piper PA-28-180 Cherokee Archer airplane, registration PT-KLO, on which he travelled crashed to the ground. Thus the Latin pop star Gabriel Diniz died at the age of 28. The causes of the accident occurred on Monday in Porto do Mato, in the State of Sergipe in Brazil, are still unknown. The authorities investigating the incident assume that the pilot has lost control of the aircraft due to the difficult weather conditions, which have also made it difficult to rescue. The entourage confirmed the death of the artist and the other two people who travelled with him. The plane had departed from Salvador, where Diniz had just made a concert, and was headed to Maceió, to take part at the birthday party of his girlfriend Karoline Calheiros.
Diniz was not very well known in Italy, but his hit "Jenifer", released last September, reached over 236 million views on YouTube. Many and heartfelt messages of condolence were posted on social media, including that of the Brazilian footballer Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino, a very good friend of the pop star: "Hard to believe. The message of love and joy you left on Earth was incredible. I'm grateful to have met you. Rest in peace", he wrote on Instagram.
